John Lackey

John Derran Lackey (born October 23, 1978) is an American professional baseball starting pitcher who is a free agent. The Anaheim Angels drafted him from the Grayson County College in Texas in 1999. He made his Major League Baseball (MLB) debut for the Angels in 2002 and helped the franchise win its first World Series title that year. He has also played for the Boston Red Sox after signing as a free agent, and won his second championship with them in 2013. He played for the St. Louis Cardinals in 2014 and 2015.
An All-Star selection in 2007, Lackey led the American League (AL) in earned run average and finished third in the Cy Young Award balloting. He is a two-time AL Pitcher of the Month Award winner. After declining performances his first two seasons in Boston, he missed the 2012 season to recover from elbow surgery, but rebounded in 2013 as the Red Sox won the World Series. In 2015, he won at least 10 games for the 12th consecutive season in which he has played (not counting 2012).
